Castlerock Beach

Sea Road Castlerock, Londonderry

Castlerock Beach is located within the Binevenagh AONB. The beach has an extensive dune system and the Barmouth estuary at its eastern extremity. The western end has impressive basaltic cliffs and extensive promenade. 

Castlerock Beach retains charming rural characteristics. It enjoys convenient accessability owing to its location immediately adjacent to the village's promenade.

 

GETTING THERE

By Car

Castlerock Beach is located off the Mussenden Rd (A2), 12 miles north of Limavady and 8 miles west of Coleraine.  Travel along Sea Rd through the village, and come directly to the beach entrance.

By Public Transport

The 134 bus passes close to Castlerock Beach entrance and the nearest train station is in Castlerock.

By Bicycle

NCN Route 93 passes through Downhill Forest, and along Mussenden Rd, approx 0.5 miles from Castlerock Beach entrance.

By Foot

There is a roadside footway connecting Castlerock Beach,Castlerock village and Downhill beach.
