Cranfield Beach
Cranfield offers gently sloping, mainly sandy beach located at the entrance to Carlingford Lough, an area designated an Area of Special Scientific Interest. The idyllic location has the majestic Mourne Mountains as a dramatic backdrop.
Cranfield Beach, a long south-facing beach offers excellent facilities for all and is popular with families and water sport enthusiasts. During July and August RNLI lifeguards are on duty 11am to 6pm daily. This service is continued on weekends only during September.
GETTING THERE
By Car
Cranfield Beach is located off the main A2 Rostrevor to Kilkeel Road. The nearest town, Kilkeel, is located four miles from the beach.
By Public Transport
Buses leave from Greencastle Street, Kilkeel daily at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00 hours.
By Bicycle
The 12 mile Cranfield/Greencastle cycle route passes by Cranfield Beach.
