Drumcairne Forest sits not far from the shores of Lough Neagh, approximately 8 miles from Cookstown. About 1 mile to the west of Stewartstown, the forest has a variety of conifer and broadleaved species. It has just under 200 acres of woodland.
In 2023 Mid Ulster Council completed upgrade works, this included increased provision at the current car park within the site, and the addition of accessible car parking spaces. New bench seating, bike racks and picnic tables with accessible provision were also installed. Trail upgrades will include resurfacing and drainage on existing walking trails.
Drumcairne Forest can be accessed from the B160 Stewartstown to Coagh Road leading onto the Castlefarm and Ballygittle Road
