Mount Stewart

Portaferry Road Newtownards BT22 2AD, Down

Mount Stewart is a National Trust property open all year round that has wonderful gardens and a neo-classical house, but also boasts walking trails and is close to Strangford Lough where you can access the Strangford Lough Canoe Trail.

The famous gardens at Mount Stewart are some of the most inspiring and unusual garden in the National Trust’s ownership. Visitors can enjoy the beautifully landscaped and informal grounds surrounding the picturesque lake walk and walk through magnificent woodlands throughout the entire year.

Visitors are able to enjoy and explore the Londonderry’s family home.  The house was refurbished over a number of years and re-opened in April 2015.
