Glenshane Forest
A challeging route through Glenshane Forest climbing to a mass rock and then looping back across open mountain past the source of the River Roe, Glenshane and Corrick Mountain. Follows part of the Ulster Way. No dogs as sheep graze open mountain.
TRAIL INFORMATION
From forest entrance cross stile and follow track downhill, continue straight on at crossroads. Follow track through forest ignoring all other turn offs.
After 3 kms the route climbs steeply with a sharp left hand turn bringing you to a sheltered spot with the mass rock.
Ascend the steep section S from the mass rock to come on to open mountain. Head W to make for Mullaghmore before looping back to White Mountain in the North and across Glenshane Mountain to meet edge of the forest.
* Care should be taken midway between Bohilbreaga and Mullaghmore as two barbedwire fences have been constructed that run north/south parallel to each other, no stiles or gates are currently in place *
Continue N along forest edge and pick up a track on the E side of Corrick mountain. Turn right on this track crossing a gate and then turn left at the crossroads to return to start.
These walks are situated in a working forest environment and may be subject to diversion and closure from time to time.

- Point of Interest Mass rock in forest and source of River Roe
- Facilities Toilets and refreshments at Ponderosa Bar 1 mile south of start point, Dungiven or Glenshane Services.
- Getting to the Start Various start points available. Start from entrance to Glenshane Forest on the southern side of A6 6 miles east of Dungiven.
