Newtownstewart to Strabane Cycle

Tyrone

Cycle route leaves the small plantation town of Newtownstewart, an architectural conservation area and travels north along the quiet country roads on the eastern side of the rivers Strule and Mourne. Both rivers make up a significant portion of the Foyle catchment one of the best salmonoid river systems in Europe. During the angling season expect to see many busy anglers as you cycle towards Strabane. Take the spur off the route to visit Sion Mills, a 19th century mill village and architectural gem.
