This route explores attractive parkland which contains a bowling green, tennis courts, an outdoor gym, soccer pitches and a cycling and BMX track.
As part of the Connswater Community Greenway (CCG), Orangefield Park now boasts an impressive wildlife corridor where walkers can regularly spot Kingfishers, Herons, Egrets, Otters and other types of wildlife. Moving the Knock River was part of the East Belfast Flood Alleviation Scheme - an £11million investment by DFI which now means 1,700 houses are protected from flooding. Orangefield Park is a gateway destination to explore the rest of the CCG - down to the Hollow and Victoria Park or up to Cregagh Glen or Braniel.
Starting at Orangefiled Lane entrance take the path either to your right or left, this forms a circular route around the entire park.
